Tallgrass has now surpassed its ten-year anniversary. The milestone presented us with an opportunity to reflect on all we have accomplished since our founding. Our oil and gas asset base, which has long been the cornerstone of our business, is now providing a platform for growth. We now provide cross-continental connectivity and have the capacity to move nearly 10% of the nation’s energy.
Over the last year, this mindset saw us join together on several key accomplishments. We moved quickly to reach an agreement to acquire the Ruby Pipeline, which added three states to our footprint and nearly 700 miles of infrastructure to our portfolio upon closing in January 2023. We became the first company to achieve Project Canary’s Midstream Certification on our Rockies Express Pipeline, demonstrating our deep commitment to corporate responsibility in a tangible way. Additionally, we forged several industry-leading strategic relationships, including a joint venture with United Airlines and Green Plains that resulted in the largest sustainable aviation fuel deal ever announced.
However, as I think about what enabled our success this past year, it’s not the steel in the ground that’s made the difference — it’s our team in the offices and field sites across our expansive footprint.
None of these achievements would have occurred without our people and the mindset they bring to work with them each day. Everything we do emerges from ONE Tallgrass – the belief that all our actions, no matter their size or scope, shape who we are today and who we will be tomorrow. This guiding principle unites us across states, disciplines and the wide variety of skills and perspectives that our colleagues bring to the table. It enables us not only to pursue compelling opportunities, but also to pinpoint innovative energy solutions.
I look forward to seeing how ONE Tallgrass will continue to drive us forward – not just this year, or the next decade, but for decades to come.
